The European Energy Exchange AG ( EEX) improves member connectivity to its exchange trading systems, thus further developing the overall connectivity. An important aspect of these improvements is the interface which facilitates the access to all EEX markets via Trayport GlobalVision, which is widely used in energy trading.
From 28 June 2010 the EEX spot and futures products are visible and tradeable for all participants via Trayport’s front-end. This means that the trading participants will be able to trade all spot products for natural gas and emissions as well as the futures on power, natural gas, emissions and coal offered by EEX using Trayport's GlobalVision.
This is facilitated by the introduction of a new and uniform interface – the “Universal Communicator”. EEX will provide the new “Universal Communicator“ interface to its trading participants and offer various connection versions as well as individual support for the trading participants.
“The Communicator solution developed further by EEX considerably simplifies access to our markets” emphasizes Dr. Christoph Mura, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of EEX AG and adds “with this step we have implemented an important component in the framework of our long-term IT strategy”.
“Our work with EEX is part of Trayport’s long term strategy to provide inter-connectivity to markets,“ says Elliott Piggott, Managing Director, Trayport. “We’re responding to increasing market demand for our platform and the relationship with EEX shows a sign of our commitment to provide connectivity technology to solve the demands of the energy markets.”
So far, trading in EEX Spot Market and Derivatives Market products by using Trayport® GlobalVision was possible via two separate software applications. In March, EEX introduced the Communicator also for the EEX Spot Market products.
