London, 14 July 2011
Energy exchange APX-ENDEX today announces the extension of the cooperation with GasTerra offering Gas Storage Services. The project partners announced the launch of Gas Storage Service in March 2011. The service provides market parties with access to almost 2 billion cubic meters of gas storage under market based conditions. These storage services are sold in the form of so called “standard bundled units” or “SBUs” which allow market parties to inject natural gas into or withdraw from a virtual storage facility. The two auctions held in April resulted in all 13,249,456 SBUs being sold.
APX-ENDEX and GasTerra intend to continue their cooperation in this service for the coming two years. Auctions of the Gas Storage Service for the contract year from April 2012 to March 2013 are foreseen to start during the autumn of 2011 and will be held by APX-ENDEX as were the previous auctions.
APX-ENDEX will organise information seminars for market parties on improvements to the product and services as well as to receive feedback. The exact dates of these information sessions will be announced shortly.
