CME Group has announced record volume in its benchmark Henry Hub Natural Gas futures contracts. On Thursday, February 10, natural gas futures reached a record of 526,280 contracts, surpassing the previous record of 510,442 set earlier in the week on Monday, February 7, 2011. Combined natural gas futures and options volume also reached a record 664,332 contracts.

January average daily volume (ADV) for the Henry Hub Natural Gas futures and options complex was 440,882 contracts versus 351,720 contracts in January 2010. This represents an increase of more than 25 percent in year-over-year Henry Hub Natural Gas futures and options volume.
