Gazprom Marketing & Trading (GM&T) and Siemens are delighted to announce the signing of a memorandum of understanding to co-operate in developing global Energy Metering Solutions within the Gas, Power and Water industries. This agreement will provide Gazprom’s affiliated company TruRead Ltd. with enhanced capability to market their advanced Automated Meter Reading technologies to the global gas industry.
TruRead has developed and deployed gas automated meter reading meters over the past 3 years. In co-operation with Gazprom the company has gained practical experience and expertise to offer customers a dynamic energy management solution. TruRead provides a range of creative technologies and solutions which enable meters for gas, electricity, water and other commodities to be read remotely and data transferred without the need for human intervention. This remote meter reading solution allows consumers to measure energy use in near real time which enables them to better manage their energy consumption and carbon footprint.
• Gazprom Marketing & Trading Retail signs new agreement for Siemens to supply metering services to Gazprom Retail’s UK & European Customers.
• Siemens agrees to market Gas Automated Meter Reading services through TruRead a Metering company in the UK backed by Gazprom Marketing & Trading Ltd.
• Gazprom Marketing & Trading and Siemens agree to work together to build their relationship through marketing Energy and Metering Solutions to customers on a global basis.
GM&T has already committed to the technology through their downstream business which now supplies 25,000 sites in the UK, Ireland and France in both gas and electricity. This technology is used in all geographies.
The collaboration with Siemens brings another product online and complements an already successful suite of products offering metering solutions worldwide. The deal has already proved its value with the signing of a tripartite agreement with a major UK energy consumer.
Both Kevin Tutton, Director UK Metering for Siemens Metering Services and Jon Feingold, Managing Director for Gazprom Marketing & Trading Retail Ltd. are committed to the growth of this relationship on a global level, believing that it will create exciting new growth opportunities for both companies.
Vitaly Vasiliev CEO of Gazprom Marketing & Trading commented, “We are delighted with this new deal. Whilst the benefit to our current customers is clearly very pleasing, what is really exciting for GM&T is the new opportunities that could open up for us, through collaboration with a world class partner in Siemens”.
Kevin Tutton from Siemens Metering Services added: “Our partnership agreement with Gazprom M&T represents another key milestone on the Siemens’ smart metering roadmap. We look forward to a fruitful partnership and to providing Gazprom’s customers with our high standard metering services.”
