APX-ENDEX today announces the results of the Gas Storage Service Auction held on 15 February 2012 on behalf of GasTerra. The auction was executed successfully and APX-ENDEX is pleased to confirm that all 13,229,456 SBUs for the contract year 2012/2013 were sold at a weighted average price of €6.28/SBU. The auction was oversubscribed with a total amount of 15,669,629 SBUs requested.

The weighted average price of the previous Gas Storage Service Auctions for the contract year 2011/2012 was €4.46/SBU. By using the Gas Storage Service, market parties have access to almost 2 billion cubic meters of gas storage. Market parties are able to inject natural gas into or withdraw from a virtual storage facility. The single-sided auction mechanism developed by APX-ENDEX ensures that SBUs are sold in a transparent,  independent and market-based manner. The anonymity of market parties bidding in the auction as well as the confidentiality of all information regarding their bids are guaranteed by the exchange. APX-ENDEX facilitates the day-to-day nomination processes as well as the financial settlement of the contracts.
