The London Metal Exchange ( LME) saw record of 102,096 trades on 22 September 2011. LMEselect registered 51,841 trades, which is the second busiest day on record after 5 August 2011. Trading was spread over 185,102 lots of which 98,804 lots were outrights. To date this year the LME is averaging 563,239 lots per day, up 18% from the 2010 average daily volume.
