London, 8 August 2011
The latest version of the LMEselect trading platform (version 7) will be launched on the 21 November 2011. It will incorporate increased resiliency, improved performance and added functionality. A complete list of these changes and the latest FIX specification can be found on the www.lmeprojects.net website. In the event of any issues being found in the final cut over stages (that cannot be rectified immediately), a contingency launch date of the 28 November 2011 will be used.
"A number of enhancements have been made to the FIX protocol in order to standardise implementation, such that all FIX applications will need to pass a new mandatory conformance process. A dedicated conformance server “Certifix” will be made available from 3 October 2011 until 14 November 2011," according to David Abrahams, Head of Systems Trading at the LME. A complete launch timeline can be found on the www.lmeprojects.net website.
An LMEselect connectivity guide has been produced to give an overview of the options available for connectivity to the LMEselect platform. This guide includes details of connectivity to Production and Test environments. It also includes an overview for connectivity to the LME Proximity Hosting service which will be available after the LMEselect 7 upgrade. This is on the www.lmeprojects.net website.
LMEselect Proximity Hosting
LME has partnered with Interxion and Equinix to offer proximity hosting services for the LMEselect platform. The proximity hosting service enables members to place trading order management systems directly in an Interxion or Equinix data centre (or both), enabling the fastest possible access to LMEselect as well as the ability to take advantage of potential cross-exchange arbitrage opportunities. This service will be of particular interest to members using algorithmic trading strategies.
