C-COM to change gold futures structure

Tokyo, 16 March 2010

Central Japan Commodity Exchange (C-CM) to change contract month structure of gold futures from six consecutive months to all odd months within a year.

C-COM, subject to the approval by the competent ministers, is to change the Contract Month structure of the Gold futures contract on the Precious Metal Market which was launched on October 13, 2009.

On April 27 a new Contract Month, November (instead of October) is to be launched. Following the November Contract Month, a series of new odd Contract Months - January, March, May, and July 2011 are to be launched respectively in May, June, July and August 2010. As a result, all the six Contract Months outstanding (from September 2010 through July 2011) shall be odd months for the first time as of August 27, 2010.

In and after September 2010, a new (always odd) Contract Month is to be launched only in odd months, and no new contract month starts in even months.
