Hobbit and rubber crack oil market

The hobbit and rubber may be the world’s newest commodity markets. No, people are not suddenly buying crates of the Tolkien novel or more raw material for tyres.

Hobbit and rubber have in the past year entered oil trader vernacular as types of crack spreads – the price difference between crude oil and fuels refined from it. Their appearance says a lot about conditions in global petroleum markets.
