Markets mixed as Tokyo rebounds

Wednesday 14.00 GMT. An attempt by Wall Street and European bourses to break the week's downtrend has faltered as worries over the situation in Bahrain counteract the improvement in sentiment emanating from Asia, where the Tokyo stock market rallied nearly 6 per cent in the belief that recent selling had been overdone.
