Markets mixed as Tokyo rebounds

Wednesday 12.25 GMT. An attempt by European bourses to break a five-day losing streak has faltered somewhat as worries over the situation in Bahrain counteract the improvement in sentiment emanating from Asia, where the Tokyo stock market rallied nearly 6 per cent in the belief that recent selling had been overdone.
