London, September 2010
Introduction
With the global recovery tentatively underway, but significant regions of the world are beginning to stutter into ‘double-dipping’ and talk of a Japanese style ‘lost decades’ of deflation, commodity markets have provided a muted performance so far this year. Commodity sentiment has stalled. Bar the typical, and largely weather driven events affecting the agricultural sector, commodity markets more generally – the energy and industrial metals sectors in particular – seem headed for a sideways show for the rest of the year.
