Amsterdam, 3 March 2010
Best Trader, Broker and Project Developer announced: Point Carbon is delighted to announce that Barclays Capital, TFS Green/Tradition and Noble Carbon Credits have won best trader, best broker and best project developer respectively at this year’s Carbon Market Awards.
On receiving the award, Louis Redshaw of Barclays Capital, said, “last year we focused our efforts on providing carbon financing products that helped our clients and the wider market manage the exaggerated risks that we have all experienced. So we are extremely flattered to be voted best trader again this year, the Point Carbon award is a highly sought after accolade that we work hard to win and winning it demonstrates that we are providing the right service in the most challenging of circumstances”.
The awards are presented each year at Point Carbon’s annual carbon market conference, CMI, which is already underway, this year in Amsterdam. Point Carbon is the leading independent provider of market intelligence, news, analysis, forecasting and advisory services for the energy and environmental markets.
Voting is a completely open process with invitations to nominate sent to more than 1,000 Point Carbon subscribers. There is no short-list enabling subscribers to choose their own candidates in the three categories.
“This award is given by the carbon community to companies within that community. Although organised by Point Carbon, it is truly an award given by peers to those companies excelling in their fields”, said Henrik Hasselknippe, Global Head of Carbon Analysis at Point Carbon Trading Analytics & Research.
Commenting on the award for best broker, Michael Anderson, Head of energy and Commodities (Europe) at Tradition Group, said: “we are absolutely delighted that our continued hard work and professionalism are recognised by our clients. As the leading Carbon Broking house, we get many awards, but are very aware that Point Carbon is the one that really matters.”
Thorsten Ansorg, Managing Director and Global Division Head, Noble Carbon Credits, said: “we are delighted and honored to receive this award for best project developer from Point Carbon. A special thanks goes to our entire team and to all our customers and suppliers, who were instrumental in our success during the past turbulent year. We look forward to 2010 and beyond with confidence”.
