Solutions for a Changing Climate™
Emission Dynamics (ED) is the new annual briefing on developments throughout the global emission markets. This new annual title discusses the many aspects of this emerging marketplace as they stand today and the key developments and actions required to constrain man-made greenhouse gas emissions in the future. Published for the first time in October 2008, ED is a thought-led publication addressing the key themes of:
- Energy & Emissions Policy – Kyoto & Beyond
- Supply Security & Climate Dynamics
- Market Based Instruments
- Technological Innovation
- Emissions Management
The evidence is irrefutable. Key studies and reports from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and others has now confirmed that fact. Accordingly, the climate change debate has taken several steps forward with governments, NGOs, investors, industry and individuals now openly debating our emission constrained future which formally began with the start of the first Kyoto Protocol period in January 2008.
ED is compiled with the assistance of – and read by – governments, leading financial institutions (including investment and commercial banks), utilities, technology companies, carbon companies and funds, private equity and hedge fund specialists, project developers, carbon aggregators, major corporations and NGOs – as well as other emission market players and interested parties.
Articles are written by specialists from throughout the emissions marketplace, including invited experts and sponsoring companies. The editor is Jeremy Wilcox, Managing Director of The Energy Partnership.
ED will present a series of unique, specialist articles discussing particular aspects of the global emissions market to include policy, solutions and management. Articles are forward-looking, providing readers with insight and intelligence across the global emissions marketplace. Articles also assume that readers have a broad understanding of what emission markets are, and how they currently operate.
ED will be distributed to 10,000 market specialists and interested parties and will also be made available as a digital online edition, with report links and glossaries to all relevant reports, websites and other market intelligence of specific use in these increasingly dynamic markets.
ED is discussion based, designed to give all those involved in the emissions sector reflective, well grounded views on trends and developments in major policy and emission based system dynamics. Our aim is to provide valuable, in-depth analysis, challenging and objective research, and specialised views on all aspects of the emissions sector globally.
Climate change is here. Whatever your views of its origins or consequences, market based mechanisms to mitigate the impact of greenhouse gas emissions are a reality and will increase in stature. Global carbon markets could be worth almost €2 trillion by 2020, with total transaction volume forecast at 38 billion tonnes CO2 equivalent, according to emissions consultancy Point Carbon.
ED will provide insight into the key issues and policy formulations necessary for commercial enterprises and individuals alike to influence and develop emission market mechanisms.
